Lindell, Missouri Church Basement Waterproofed
Challenge
When members of a Lonedell, Missouri church discovered mold in the basement, they were distraught. The church basement has several meeting rooms, including a playroom. The mold growth was a health concern. Water leaked into the basement where the floor meets the wall. In some places, water leaked through the block foundation. After visiting the church, Brandon B., system design specialist, designed a solution to waterproof the basement and prevent future mold growth.
Solution
Foreman Greg H. and his team began waterproofing the basement by installing WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system that is installed below the floor. The WaterGuard collects and guides water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. TripleSafe is equipped with a main pump, backup pump and battery-powered pump to ensure that the basement always stays dry.
In addition to WaterGuard and TripleSafe, CleanSpace was installed to the block walls that leaked water. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that guides water to the WaterGuard. Greg and his team also installed IceGuard. IceGuard is installed to the external discharge line. It provides an exit for the water in the event that the lines become frozen or clogged. With these solutions, this church basement will stay dry.
To create a more comfortable environment and prevent mold growth, SaniDry was installed. SaniDry is an energy efficient dehumidifier. It reduces the relative humidity of the basement without hiking energy costs. The combination of these systems is just what the church needed. The members can now enjoy the safe and healthy environment of the basement with no concerns of mold.
