Leaky Basement in Maryville, IL
Challenge
This Maryville, IL resident was tired of dealing with water in his basement every time it rained. Water would seep in through the leaky window, and there wasn’t a proper waterproofing system to carry the water to the sump pump. There were also large cracks in the foundation walls because they had begun to bow slightly. Water would come in through the cracks in the walls, and the basement always seemed to be wet. The resident wanted to get the problem solved so he could use his unfinished basement for storage.
Solution
Woods Basement Systems fixed his wet basement problems by installing Wall Anchors, an EverLast window, WaterGuard, and a TripleSafe sump pump.
The Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system permanently stabilizes the foundation walls and provides the best opportunity to straighten them over time. Wall anchors have a much quicker installation time and are less expensive than other solutions, which make them the best option for repair.
EverLast windows are airtight, easy to open, and keep out bugs, rodents, and other outdoor elements. It is entirely made of vinyl, so it will never rot, rust, or be eaten by termites. EverLast windows are also energy efficient due to the crystal clear double thermopane glass.
WaterGuard is an effective way to permanently waterproof any basement. It is installed on top of the footing rather than beside it, so it does not become clogged with the dirt and debris from below. The WaterGuard piping system collects any wall seepage and carries it to the sump pump, where it will be pumped out and away from the home.
The TripleSafe sump pump is a reliable three-pump system. If the first pump fails, the second pump takes over. If pump 1 can’t keep up with the amount of incoming water, both pumps 1 and 2 work to get the job done. If power is lost, a third battery operated pump automatically turns on. It also has a WaterWatch alarm system that sounds off when the water rises above the operating range of the pumps, warning the resident before any damage can occur.
All of these products worked together to keep the homeowner’s basement dry all the time.
