Basement Waterproofing in Springfield, IL
Challenge
This Springfield, IL basement was in desperate need of a waterproofing system. Over the years, the foundation had settled, causing cracks in the foundation and walls. Water was coming in through the cracks, resulting in standing water throughout the basement. The sump pump was failing to keep up with the incoming water and wasn’t keeping the basement dry. The resident wanted to use the unfinished basement for storage and couldn’t do so without first making it dry.
Solution
Woods Basement Systems first installed Push Piers around the home in order to lift the home back toward its original position and close the cracks in the foundation. The resident was happy with the installation because it was quick and caused minimal disturbance to the home. After eliminating the cracks that water could potentially seep through, Woods installed WaterGuard and a TripleSafe sump pump to prevent any future basement flooding.
WaterGuard is a piping system to solve basement water problems effectively without the worry of clogging. It is installed on top of the footing rather than beside it so that mud and other sediments can’t clog the system. The TripleSafe is a three-pump system that offers complete protection. If the first pump fails, the second pump takes over. If the incoming water is too much for the first pump, then the secondary pump kicks in and works at the same time. If power is lost, a third battery operated pump automatically turns on. The WaterGuard system along with a TripleSafe gave the customer the satisfaction of having a permanently dry basement.
