New Construction Waterproofing in Holiday Shores, IL
Challenge
Making sure we documented the damp proofing spay on the exterior of the foundation since it was a "clear-coat" application. Placing the TripleSafe® sump pump liner to meet code and the builders' desires. Meeting the expections that doing the drain system on top of the footing, CatusBoard®, would help prevent future basement leaks.
Solution
It is always better to take the step to help keep a basement dry all the time while it is still being built. Retro-fitting a basement waterproofing system after a finished basement gets wet is expensive. ESPECIALLY, since most homeowners think they already paid for it once when the home was built. CatusBoard® makes a pathway for any water seapage at the foundation wall, footing, and floor seam to get to the draintile or rock beneath the basement floor and allows the sump pump to do its job. We sent a set of photographs to the builder to show that all the foudation walls were treated and the interiro drainage we installed.
