Godfrey, Illinois Basement Transformed to Beautiful with EverLast and MillCreek
Challenge
Jon H. of Godfrey, Illinois used his unfinished basement for storage. When it came time that he wanted to use the basement for a child’s playroom, Jon knew it was time to finish the basement. Jon and his family sought to transform their cold, unfinished basement into a beautiful, comfortable living space. System Design Specialist Gerald D. visited Jon’s home in order to best design the solution he was seeking.
Solution
The best solution to transform Jon’s basement was to install EverLast walls and MillCreek flooring. Foreman Adam A. and his team installed the necessary products.
EverLast wall panels were installed to the perimeter and partition walls. Perhaps the best feature of EverLast is that it is inorganic, so it does not support mold or mildew growth. In addition, these wall panels cannot be damaged by water. The EverLast wall panels are also insulated with SilverGlo. SilverGlo is a graphite-infused insulation that is 24% more energy efficient than the standard wall insulation. EverLast is not only functional, but it is beautiful too. The wall panels can be painted, but their beautiful, timeless design is perfect for any basement. Jon can be sure these walls will last in a child’s playroom, because the walls are highly dent resistant and 197% stronger than drywall. This solution was the perfect step to transform his basement.
MillCreek flooring was the next step to transform the basement. Like EverLast, MillCreek is waterproof and does not support mold or mildew growth. Jon can also sleep peacefully knowing that the flooring his safe for his family. The installation process does not use formaldehyde like typical flooring. MillCreek flooring also has a special, slip-resistant coating, another reason this solution is perfect for a playroom. In addition to its functionality, MillCreek flooring is a timeless design. It is stain and fade resistant, so it is a long-lasting, beautiful solution.
In addition to EverLast and MillCreek, Adam and his team installed ceiling tiles. These tiles are also mold resistant and do not sag. They create a rich look for the basement while creating a sound barrier between the upstairs and the basement. To finish the look of the basement, a new staircase and energy-efficient windows were installed. Jon even opted to have a half-bathroom installed.
The combination of these systems created the perfect solution for Jon’s basement. He can rest easily knowing that his home will remain safe and healthy for his family. He is thrilled to have his basement transformed to beautiful.
