WaterGuard® Drainage System and EverLast™ Half-Wall Installation in Edwardsville, IL
Challenge
David M. in Edwwardsville, Illinois, had a finished basement with a leak, where water came from underneath the wall in the basement wall. It seeped underneath the carpeting, which became noticeable to David. He called Woods Basement Systems, where Systems Design Specialist David Gass came out to design a soltuion based on David's needs. David needed a solution that would efficiently transport any water leaking into the basement to the sump pump, so it could be pumped out.
Solution
The best solution for David was to install the WaterGuard® drainage system around the perimeter of the basement, install the UltraSump™ battery back-up for the existing sump pump, and replace the bottom portion of the basement wall with the EverLast™ half-wall restoration panels.
Foreman Ryan Lovell and his team came out to install the WaterGuard® drainage system and the UltraSump sump pump. The bottom half of the wood-paneled wall was removed to make room for the WaterGuard®. The area around the perimeter was jack-hammered out and the concrete chips were removed. The open area was lined with small river rocks, and the WaterGuard® drainage system was placed on top. Over that, more rocks were placed to fill in the gap, and fresh concrete was poured and leveled to finish the project. The drainage system was installed to ensure the system transported the water to the sump pump pit. The UltraSump™ battery back-up was installed to the existing sump pump, which would power the sump pump during power outages in severe storms.
After the WaterGuard® drainage system and UltraSump™ battery back-up were installed, foreman Quinton Westbrook and his team came out to install the EverLast™ wall restoration panels to the basement walls. Since the bottom portion of the basement walls were removed to install the WaterGuard® drainage system, the team could immediately install the half-wall panels. Before doing so, the carpeting in the basement was laid back down, and then the panels were installed.
Now, David enjoys a leak-free basement and has piece of mind, knowing his walls and carpeting are safe from water damage.
