John and Joann decided to finish their basement to create more living space in their St. Louis, MO home. Before doing so, they needed to waterproof some areas and repair some wall cracks. They contacted Woods Basement Systems knowing we could complete all three services. This photo gallery shows several before and after photos of the basement finishing process.

Basement Waterproofed in St. Louis, MO Basement

Before finishing the basement, it is important to ensure full protection from moisture and foundation issues. After determining the cracks in this basement were normal settlement, John and Joann elected to have the CleanSpace, WaterGuard, SmartSump, and SaniDry dehumidifier installed. Together these products direct any incoming water into the sump pump and out of the house. They also chose to have the battery backup sump pump installed to keep their basement dry in the event of primary pump failure or power outage.

John and Joann used their basement primarily for storage even after it was waterproofed. They decided they wanted extra living space, so they chose Woods to finish their basement. They already had the basement waterproofed with the CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. This helps to direct any water into the waterproofing system and out of the home.
