Bowed Walls
The settled walls had begun to bow and leave gaps in the foundation. These crawl space walls will only worsen over time, so it is vital to secure the foundation right away.
Deep-Set Gap
This picture shows just how much the wall had bowed. With a gap this wide, water leaks will be able to leak into the crawl space, creating another demanding issue.
Solution: Push Piers
Embedded into the footing of the foundation, you can see the freshly installed push piers. This piering system is designed to lift and lock the foundation into place. Once the foundation is back to how it used to be, the foundation walls will stop bowing and cracking.
Additional Changes
Along with the push piers, the homeowner wanted to permanently keep water and unwanted critters from entering into the crawl space. This wooden vent cover wasn't able to block out these outer elements.
Sealed Crawl Space
Now that's better! Team Woods installed an inorganic vent cover to seal the crawl space from outer elements. Inorganic materials won't soak up water like the wooden cover. This time nothing is getting past this vent keeping the crawl space fresh and clean.
