Crawl Space
Spider webs, dirt and dust, and wires hanging down. Nothing to stop air from getting up into the home from the crawl space below. Air in a home will rise due to the Stack Effect - a phenomenon where air is 'pulled' up through a home.
Crawl Space Wall
No insulation or liner in the crawl space allows for water to form and create humidity, adding to the perfect conditions for mold and mildew to grow and attach to organic surfaces such as wood beams.
Attic insulation
This amount of insulation in the attic doesn't help create a boundary between the attic and conditioned space. The extreme temperatures in the attic will not be isolated from the rest of the house - so air conditioning and heating units have to work harder to stay at temperature.
Insulation around light fixtures
Air seal covers are put around light fixtures to stop exfiltration of conditioned air into the attic and then covered with insulation. This insulation creates a barrier between the attic and the floors below.
