This Edwardsville,IL home needed to make their home more energy efficient. Dr. Energy Saver came to this home with answer to their problems. The cantilever was sealed with spray foam to create a thermal barrier. The rim joist was sprayed with 2 part spray foam which insulated, sealed, and improved indoor air quality. The knee wall was sprayed with 2 part spray foam and then coated with a fire resistant coating. Can lights were covered and air sealed so that there were no air penetrations. Two vents were put into the roof to give the attic proper ventilation.

Knee Wall

This knee wall was created by an elevation in the ceiling. There is air coming up in between the wall straight through it constantly. The insulation will just act as a filter but not stop the air from going through it.

Air Sealed Hot Pipe and Top Plate

The hot pipe had a damn put around it and sealed to prevent a fire hazard by have insulation pushed agaisnt it. The top plate was sealed with spray foam to stop all air from coming up through the gaps around it.

Sealed Drop Sofft

The hole where the drop soffit is has a lot of insulation fall into it if not sealed. Dr. Energy Saver seals and insulates the hole with foam board and spray foam.

Spray Foamed Rim Joist

The rim joist was sprayed to seal all possible penetrations in so that no air, pests, insects, dirt, etc. can get through it. This 2 part spray foam also gives the rim joist insulation.
