Basement & Foundation Specialists Contribute $2,222.22 to Operation Food Search

MANCHESTER, MO — Woods Basement Systems was on location this morning with Tim Ezell for the annual FOX 2 Food Drive and donated $2,222.22 to Operation Food Search, a St. Louis area food bank that helps feed the poor and hungry.

Every month, Operation Food Search distributes more than 2 million pounds of food and necessities to 265 food pantries, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters across 31 counties in Missouri and Illinois. Operation Food Search feeds approximately 150,000 people every single month. Nearly half of these recipients are children.

Food drives are a critical source of non-perishable food for Operation Food Search, and you can help this holiday season by donating important canned food, dry goods, and personal care items as the charity increases community awareness about the problem of hunger in our community.

According to Operation Food Search, one out of three children in the area need help to keep from going hungry.  The amount of requests for Operation Food Search’s services this year have increased by over 30 percent.  Your donations can help a keep a child well fed this holiday season.

For every dollar donated, Operation Food Search is able to collect and distribute $22 worth of food. You can make monetary donations or purchase pre-packaged bags of groceries at any Dierbergs grocery store to donate this Thanksgiving.
