Candy for Caritas Family Solutions

For the month of October, Team Woods collected candy and costumes to donate to St. John Bosco Children’s Center through Caritas Family Solutions. What started as an idea to donate candy to children who cannot trick-or-treat turned into an initiative to create a costume closet for those children.

Sierra, one of our customer care representatives, was behind this initiative. She said:

“My grandma had us go every year to the veterans’ hospital to hand out treats and presents to vets at Christmas. I thought it would be awesome to do something similar for kids who can’t trick-or-treat. I like that we were able to bring happiness to kids who haven’t had the easiest time in life.”

The rest of the team quickly jumped on board with this idea. In fact, the fundraiser was an overwhelming success. We took some time to stuff goodie bags with the candy collected. In the end, our team stuffed 107 goodie bags of candy and donated 47 costumes. Caritas had so much candy that they donated some to foster families in addition to the children at St. John Bosco.

We truly enjoyed working with Caritas Family Solutions to make this fundraiser happen. In addition to our candy donations, the New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church hosted a pizza party for the children at St. John Bosco. Learn more about how you can help Caritas Family Solutions here.
