Paws for a Cause: Partners for Pets
Team Woods held a pet drive throughout the month of August. The purpose of this fundraiser was to raise money and collect donations for Partners for Pets of Illinois. Partners for Pets is a non-profit, no-kill shelter. Our team not only collected donations, but we helped raise awareness for adoptable pets in the area.
Our team really stepped up to the plate for this charity. Many spoke of their experiences with their own rescue animals. Others were excited to get involved despite their lack of experience with a personal rescue pet. Many of our team members are very involved in work and other activities that they sometimes find it difficult to find time to volunteer. So, this pet drive was one small way we could feel good about giving back to our community.
One fundraiser coordinator, Gerica, discussed her motivation to get involved:
“Having two rescued pets myself, I have always been drawn to charities and organizations involving animals, especially rescues who need to find a loving home. I was excited when I found out Woods was choosing Partners for Pets as the next charity drive and immediately wanted to get involved!”
Another fundraiser coordinator, Rosalie, described why Partners for Pets is important to her:
“Partners for Pets and other similar nonprofit animal organizations hold a special place in my heart. My family has always had animals and it means a lot having an outlet to give back. Working a lot limits the amount of time we all have to volunteer, so giving back, even in the smallest way, is very important to me.”
Our team donated cleaning supplies, several bags of dog food, toys, and cash. Learn more about how you can help Partners for Pets here.
