You discovered radon in your home...now what?
So, you know the dangers of radon. You’ve done your research. You’ve even tested your home. But what happens next?
If your test confirmed your home has radon levels above 4 picocuries, you need a radon mitigation system installed in your home. Here are the steps to do it.
First, give us a call or go online to schedule your free estimate. A system design specialist will visit your home to determine the best solution to mitigate the radon levels in your home. After our system design specialist designs a solution, we schedule an appointment for a team of radon mitigation specialists to install the radon mitigation system.
To mitigate the radon levels, the gas needs to be redirected. Typically, a hole is drilled in the slab. This hole creates a path for the radon to follow. A PVC pipe directs the radon upward. Depending on your home, this pipe may run inside or outside. The pipe is connected to a fan that vents the radon safely away from your home.
After the radon mitigation system is installed, we double check the system to ensure it adheres to EPA standards. Within 30 days of the install, the home is retested to ensure the system is properly removing radon.
