STEAM Elementary Supported with Helical Piers
The Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) Elementary School building in Hazelwood, MO was due for some upgrades and renovations. The school building was built in 1967 over an infilled lake. While all soil changes over time, recently backfilled soil is more likely to continue settling. The foundation of the school building showed signs of foundation settlement.
Foundation Supportworks by Woods teamed up with structural engineers from Kreher Engineering and geotechnical engineers from Geotechnology to fully inspect the problem and design a solution. Our team installed helical piers to lift and support the foundation. Helical Piles were installed to extend below the bottom of the old lake. The team installed four helical piers in just one day. The STEAM Elementary School Foundation is now safe and supported.
