Roots Run Deep in Collinsville
Collinsville, IL is the horseradish capital of the world. Last weekend, June 2-4, Collinsville hosted the 30th annual International Horseradish Festival. Woods has something in common with the International Horseradish festival in that we have also been in the area for 30 years.
Curious why Collinsville is named the horseradish capital of the world? 85% of the world’s horseradish is produced in Illinois, mostly in Collinsville and the surrounding area.
Woods Basement Systems spent the weekend at the festival. In fact, Marketing Director Dave Thompson is the co-chair of the event, so he plays a large role in making the event happen year after year.
A few of the weekend’s festivities included hot air balloon rides, root grinding demonstrations, and a root sacking contest. You could even find Dave juggling the hot root. Stay tuned for more blogs, and when you see us out in the community be sure to stop and say“hi” to Team Woods.
