Fight Back with Relay for Life

November is National Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer is the second most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in both men and women. Unfortunately, due to misconceptions of its cause, lung cancer research is often not largely funded.

Across the nation, the American Cancer Society hosts Relay for Life events. These fundraisers give millions of cancer patients the opportunity to celebrate more birthdays. The American Cancer Society is funded almost entirely on Relay for Life. In fact, 99% of their funding comes from donations from events such as these.

Woods Basement Systems is proud to participate in the Collinsville Relay for Life annually. In July, our team joined the Collinsville community in fundraising for the American Cancer Society by participating in Relay for Life. In addition to this event, Dave T. cooked his award-winning chili for the Collinsville community to raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The Relay for Life is crucial for the funding of the American Cancer Society. It is not only a fundraising event, but a community event that celebrates survivors and remembers those who lost the battle to cancer.
