Four Good Options for Your Basement Walls

ZenWall Paneling

ZenWall panels are the best way to create a dry, clean, and finished look on your basement walls.  They work along with the floor waterproofing system and have a ¼ inch thick encapsulated fiberglass core in order to stop water vapor from coming in through the walls.  Also, all of the materials used in ZenWall panels are inorganic, meaning they will not support mold growth.  ZenWall panels are about as close as you can get to having a finished look for your basement without the full project.  ZenWall panels make a huge difference in what your basement looks like and the overall atmosphere the room.

BrightWall Paneling

BrightWall consists of semi-rigid white plastic panels that are installed onto your basement walls with drilled-in white fasteners.  No matter how much dampness comes through the walls, BrightWall paneling will never come off.  BrightWall panels allow any water leakage to drain behind the wall down to the waterproofing system at the floor.  It’s not as nice looking as ZenWall, but it is perfect for brightening up an unfinished basement.

ThermalDry Wall System

ThermalDry wall system is the perfect product to install for those that wish to finish their basement.  ThermalDry has a reflective foil face, which reflects more than 90% of the heat from your basement back into the basement, providing significant energy savings.  It is the best solution for people who are going to finish their basements and cover their walls; however, it may also be used in unfinished basements.  Keep in mind, though, that it’s not as durable as BrightWall and can rip if abused.

CleanSpace Wall System

CleanSpace is a heavy, durable plastic liner that is usually used to line dirt crawl spaces.  However, it is a good solution for stone wall basements as well.  Because stone walls are not flat, they will not work well with ZenWall or BrightWall paneling.  CleanSpace provides a vapor barrier, drains any water leakage behind it, and brightens the basement.  It is also very durable and nearly impossible to rip.
