Team Woods Helps Fight Against Cancer

Collinsville, IL — According to the American Cancer Society, half of all men and one-third of all women in the United States will develop cancer during their lifetimes.  Over 13 million people alive today in the U.S. have either had or still have some form of cancer.

However, Relay for Life of Collinsville has proven that some of these people will survive.  This year’s Relay ran from Friday evening (June 13th) to Saturday morning (June 14th) at Collinsville Middle School, with 16 teams and 89 participants raising over $20,000 to fight cancer.  Survivors lined the track for the first lap—the Survivors Lap—to celebrate their victory over cancer, and two survivors celebrated 20 years-plus living cancer-free.
