Crawl Space Opening
The entrance to the crawl space of the home. The access for this crawl space was in the garage of the home.
After Encapsulation
A view from the inside of the crawl space after encapsulation. The clearance isn't much with the entrance.
System Installed
For this crawl space, we installed a sump pump system designed for crawl spaces, a dehumidifier to capture any moisture in the air, and a perimeter drainage system to lead it away from the house.
Wrapped Piers
When we encapsulate the crawl space, we wrap the piers too so they are waterproofed.

Floor Joist Moisture
Without an encapsulated or waterproofed crawl space, your home is susceptible to water damage like you see here on the floor joist. The start of mold growth.
Vapor Barrier
The old vapor barrier lining on the crawl space floor. This lining isn't air tight and will allow moisture to seep on top of it.
Water Damage
You can see water on top of the old vapor barrier. This is because the vapor barrier was not sealed or air tight.
