Existing Crawl Space Supports
These are the existing supports, consisting of cement blocks, wood shivs, and a board placed width-ways, which has buckled under the pressure of the home.
Wood Shivs Holding up Support
This support is sinking into the ground, which forced the homeowner to place wood shivs between the support and the floor. Since the support is sinking, it cannot hold up the miximum amount. It will help support the home for a short time with the shivs added to the support, but will ultimately fail again and again.
SmartJack Alongside Original Supports
The supports from the first photo can be seen on the left side of this photo. A different angle shows the buckled wood boards atop the shivs. The newly installed SmartJack™ posts will hold up the floor better than the original supports.
SmartJack Support Posts
These posts can withstand over 60,000 lbs. and are galvanized steel, which resist corrosion.
SmartJack on Existing Support Beam
In this home, the support beams were not the problem, it was the supports underneath. In some areas, SmartJack™ support posts could be installed on the existing support beams.
