Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Adding Waterproofing to a Finished Basement
Homeowner Ryan D. had a finished basement in his home in Litchfield, IL. However, his finished basement was not protected from water damage and all the things in his basement could be damaged if the basement floods. To protect his things, Ryan had Woods Basement Systems professional Ben S. install waterproofing systems like WaterGuard™, a Sedona dehumidifier and a TripleSafe™ sump pump around his home.
The WaterGuard™ system was placed beneath the finished wall, where it could collect water before it leaks through the gap between the wall and the floor. This would catch leaks both from below ground and from the foundation wall behind the finished wall, keeping the finished wall safe from water damage caused by puddles forming around the studs.
Water collected by WaterGuard™ is channeled to the TripleSafe™ sump pump system. The TripleSafe™ is a sump pump system that features three powerful pumps in one sump liner. The pumps can turn on at different levels of water, making the TripleSafe™ energy efficient and powerful. One of the three pumps is also battery powered, meaning it can take over pumping responsibilities when the power goes out and the other two pumps can't turn on. The entire system is built into a sturdy liner with an air tight lid that won't let any water evaporate into the air.
If water was in the air, it would be taken out by the Sedona dehumidifier. The sedona is capable of removing roughly 12 gallons of moisture from the air in a single day - and it does it using the same amount of power as a dehumidifier half its size! The moisture wicked from the air is drained into the TripleSafe™ to be pumped out of the home, so there's no emptying buckets to keep the dehumidifier running. While it's removing moisture from the air, the Sedona also filters the air, removing pesky particles like mold spores and dust mites.
These systems will work together to keep the Ryan D.'s finished basement dry and comfortable. WaterGuard™ will prevent leaks from the walls or beneath the floor and the Sedona will keep the air from feeling damp or cave-like. The TripleSafe™ will make sure water from these two systems will be safely removed from the home. That's all-around protection!
WaterGuard™ Being Hidden Away
WaterGuard™ rests against the foundation wall, so it can be hidden behind finished walls.
Sedona Drying the Air
The Sedona Dehumidifier will dry the air and dump the excess moisture into the TripleSafe™ sump pump to be expelled from the home.
WaterGuard™ and TripleSafe™
WaterGuard™ is fully installed beneath the studs in this finished wall. It drains into the TripleSafe™ system which pumps it out of the home.
Unfinished Crawlspace
This crawlspace was seperate from the basement but still experienced leak problems. Woods Basement Systems has the right solution for crawlspaces too.
Finished Crawlspace
This crawlspace is incapsulated with CleanSpace™ to prevent any leaks from entering the home through the crawlspace floor or walls.
