EverLast Wall Transforms Wildwood, Missouri Basement
Challenge
These Wildwood, Missouri homeowners used their unfinished basement for storage. When they decided to finish their basement, they called Woods Basement Systems. While these homeowners did not have water leaking into their basement at the time, water always finds its way into basements. Waterproofing was necessary before moving forward to finish the basement. System Design Specialist Gerald Dunlap designed a solution to transform their basement to the beautiful living space.
Solution
The first solution to waterproofing the basement was WaterGuard. WaterGuard is a perimeter drainage system installed below the floor slab through minimally invasive work. This french drain system collects and guides water to the TripleSafe sump pump system. TripleSafe is equipped with a main pump, backup pump, and battery-powered pump to ensure the basement stays dry. On the discharge line, IceGuard was installed. IceGuard provides an exit for water in the event that discharge lines become frozen or clogged.
EverLast wall panels were used to finish the basement. EverLast is inorganic. If needed, it guides water to the WaterGuard. Because it is inorganic, these wall panels to do support mold growth. The panels create a clean, timeless look. The panels are 197% stronger than drywall, so these homeowners can be assured that this is a long-lasting look.
In addition to EverLast, the Woods Basement Systems team installed egress windows. These windows provide an beautiful view from the basement without the worry of water leaks. The basement was also completed with a linen ceiling, lights, and a half-bathroom.
