Windows in foundation walls are often weak points for water to leak through. Water will frequently build up in window wells, where it can press against windows, eventually forcing its way into the home through the gaps around the window frame. 

To protect the home from damaging leaks like this, Woods Basement Systems can install improved window wells or a WellDuct™. The WellDuct™system works by creating a drain in the window well that travels through the wall and into a covered channel. This channel directs the water down into the perimeter drainage system or sump pump system without letting it leak into the basement. This way, water gets drained away before it can build up in the window well.

Another option is to improve the window well itself. Adding a bed of rocks and a window well cover can prevent water from entering the window well and allow any water that does enter the window well to drain away into the ground beneath the well. Radon is a very dangerous gas that is in more homes than you realize, it is also very hard to detect. This is why Paul S put in a call to Woods Basement Systems, he talked to System Design Specialist Jeremy R was able to come up with a solution to the problem.

Foreman Brett J installed a Radon Mitigation system. This product attaches to outside of the home and removes Radon from the air inside the home making the home safe for everyone who is in it.

Radon is a very dangerous gas that you cannot smell or see. There are homes that have high levels of Radon and the owners might not even know. Paul S wanted to make sure that his home was safe, so he called Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Jeremy R came up with a solution.

Foreman Brett J installed a Radon Mitigation system. The system ataches to the outside of the home, and removes Radon that might be present in the air. 

Kristen M. of Glen Carbon, Illinois noticed that water was collecting in her basement. She did not want to have to deal with this problem every time it rained, so she called Woods Basement Systems.

Design specialist Chris T. assessed the situation and decided that installing a TwinPack sump pump and a WaterGuard system would be the best option. Foreman Miguel O. traveled to the home to install these waterproofing products. The Twin Pack sump pump has a primary and secondary pump that collects water and moves it outside through an exterior discharge line. The Waterguard system is placed above the footings and is then covered by concrete. The system collects any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement.

Paul S. of Glen Carbon, Illinois had unhealthy levels of radon gas in his home. This is quite a worrisome situation because radon levels over 4.0 picocuries per liter can cause serious health problems, such as lung cancer. Polylevel was used to lift the sinking concrete slabs of the driveway as well as the pathway by filling the void created by erosion over the years under the concrete with a dense foam. The Polylevel foam is waterproof making it a more permanent solution than traditional mudjacking.

Barb and Larry are thrilled their path and driveway are back to their original postions and no longer hazardous.
