Vicki P was concerned about water coming into the basement. The foundation was also unstable, so that needed to be repaired as well. To solve all these issues, Woods first installed the WaterGuard Perimeter Drainage System. These pipes intercept water at the wall and floor joint of the basement and drain it towards the TripleSafe Sump System, which was also installed to pump the water away from the house. This advanced sump pump system will remain working even if there is no power to the house, thanks to the UltraSump battery backup pumping system. Next, a CleanSpace Basement Wall System was installed. This vapor barrier will stop water vapor from permeating the basement walls and will also drain any wall leaks. A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was also added to keep the basement air clean and dry. Lastly, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed to permanently stabilize the basement foundation. This will also straighten the walls to their original position and keep them in place. Vicki can now have peace of mind knowing that the basement will stay dry, clean, and stable for years to come!

This home in Alton, IL. was experiencing high energy bills and consistently uncomfortable temperatures in the home. It was like the air conditioner wasn't working properly. But the problem wasn't with the air condtioning, it was with the insulation in the home.
Experts at Woods Basement Systems were able to come and inspect the property and conduct air flow tests. The tests revealed that the attic wasn't insulated well enough to keep the comfortable, conditioned air in. Instead, the air that was treated by the AC was leaking out through the cieling of the house. To replace this leaking air, the home naturally sucks in air from opposite end of the home; the basement. The result is conditioned air flowing out through the roof and damp, dank basement air rising into the home.
The solution was to properly insulate the attic. Foreman Michael R. was able to add the extra insulation, which would prevent air from leaking out through the attic. This insulation would help save the homeowner money by keeping the conditioned air inside the home. This would mean the air conditioner could run less often, saving on energy. As an added bonus, the house would no longer need to suck in air from the basement to replace the air drifting out of the attic, making the house feel more comfortable and preventing that rising basement smell.
The end result is a more energy efficient - and therefore cheaper - house that the homeowner can live in comfortably thanks to the insulation installed by Dr. Energy Saver and Michael R.
Susan and Gary G. of Alton, IL had a garage below grade. Because their garage was below their living space, it faced many of the same problems a basement would face, namely; leaking. To stop this problem, foreman Dave P. installed our TripleSafe™ sump pump in the lowest part of their garage. The TripleSafe™ system boasts three individual pumps that keep draining water at high volumes - even when the power is out! The TripleSafe™ can also handle spills from the garage floor, so if there's a leak through the wall or ceiling, the garage will still be kept dry.
Now Susan and Gary's garage is TripleSafe™ protected and dry.

Laurin D. of Alton, IL noticed that the concrete slabs in her driveway were sinking, causing an uneven surface. Concrete settling happens naturally due to an accumulation of the weight of the concrete over time in addition to an accumulation of the weight of what the concrete is holding up. This settling does not always occur evenly among the surface. Laurin realized this could cause issues down the road in addition to dangers such as tripping, so she decided to call Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate.

Design specialist Thomas W. assessed the situation and decided that the best option was to install a TripleSafe sump pump and a Waterguard drainage system. Foreman Jose L. then traveled to the home to get the job started.
The Waterguard drainage system was placed above the footing of the basement. It collects any water coming up from the ground before it reaches the surface of the basement. It then drains the water to the sump pump. The Triple Safe has a primary, secondary, and battery powered pump. These three pumps ensure that the basement stays dry no matter what happens. The sump pump collects and removes water from the basement through a discharge line.
Ruth L. no longer has to worry about discovering a flooded basement. She now has a dry and waterproof home.
Homeowners Donna and Mark A. of Alton, IL discovered water on their basement floors and gave Woods Basement System a call to resolve the issue. System design specialist, Nolan M. did an inspection on the home and created a design that would assure the homeowners a dry and waterproof basement.
Foreman, Mason S. did a WaterGuard system installation on the home. The WaterGuard is known as the most advanced waterproofing system in the world and guarantees a dry basement. The water leakage is likely due to the pressure on the basement walls that water creates. This pressure is call hydro-static pressure. As the hydro-static pressure increases, the water rises and reaches the basement floor. The WaterGuard systems collects the rising water before it can reach the top of the floor.
With the WaterGuard installation, Donna and Mark A. now have a dry and waterproof basement.
A sinking foundation is not good for your home. That’s why Linda M called Woods Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Jacob K was able to come up with a solution to the problem.
Foreman Jose L installed a SmartJack and a Push Pier underneath Linda’s home. A SmartJack will rest on a stable level of soil and support the portion of the house that is sinking. The Push Pier will be driven into a stable level of soil. It will also support the structure but unlike the SmartJack it will be able to raise the level of the house over time.
Linda M. of Alton, Illinois noticed that her floors were sagging and her walls were starting to crack. She didn't want to ignore the problem and allow more damage to occur. She called Woods Basement Systems for help.
After discussing the problems, design specialist Jacob K. came up with the perfect solution. Foreman Jose L. installed six push piers and a SmartJack to fix the problems. Push piers are placed right next to the house and use hydraulics to lift the house back to its original level. To fix the sagging floor, a SmartJack was installed in the crawl space of the house. The SmartJack is a steel support system that stabilizes and lifts the floors above back to their original position.
Linda M. now has a level and stable home. She no longer has to worry about uneven floors or cracking.
Peter B. of Alton, IL had a very damp crawl space. He thought he’d dealt with it by having another company install a dehumidifier and sump pump but the sump pump was filled with mud and not working and the dehumidifier was ineffective at keep the humidity low. The flimsy plastic liner he had over the floor bunched and did nothing to keep moisture out so he called Woods Basement Systems. Design Specialist Adam R. inspected the crawl space and recommended an encapsulation system with new pump and dehumidifier.
Woods installed CleanSpace securely over the foundation walls and floors of the crawl space. CleanSpace is a thick, durable plastic moisture barrier. It’s mold resistant and prevents water from entering the crawl space, instead directing it down to the perimeter drainage system.
Drainage Matting was installed along the dirt floors under the CleanSpace. Drainage matting has a dimpled design that gives standing water under the encapsulation system channels to disperse to the drainage system.
The SmartPipe drainage system was installed along the perimeter of the crawl space. SmartPipe has multiple rows of channel holes covered in filter fabric to prevent it from being clogged by mud and debris as it collected water from the foundation walls and dirt floors of the crawl space and drains it to the sump pump.
Woods replaced the old, non-functional sump pump with the SmartSump. The SmartSump expels the water collected by the SmartPipe safely out and away from the crawl space through its discharge line. It contains a powerful cast-iron pump within its sump liner that was designed to form an airtight seal with the CleanSpace moisture barrier.
The old dehumidifier was replaced by the SaniDry dehumidifier. The old dehumidifier was only able to remove up to 32 pints of water from the air per day. The SaniDry is much more powerful while remaining energy efficient and can remove up to 109 pints of water from the crawl space air each day. It keeps relative humidity low to prevent musty smells and the conditions that cause rot and mold growth.
IceGuards were installed on the discharge lines on the exterior of the home. They feature perforations that allow water to escape into the yard if the lines become frozen so it won’t back up into the basement.
Peter B. is relieved to finally have a dry crawl space that he can safely use for storage.
Michael R. of Alton, IL had foundation walls that were severely bowing. The bowing had also called large cracks to form along the walls which were leaking water into the basement. Michael didn’t want the walls to turn into an even worse problem so he called Woods Basement Systems for a free estimate. Design Specialist Chris Tite assessed the foundation walls and found that the best solution would be to install a wall support system.
Geo-Lock Wall Anchors were installed along one of the bowing walls. Geo-Lock Wall Anchors counteract external pressure on the walls caused by unstable soil conditions. By connecting earth anchors buried in stable soil in the yard to wall plates on the inside of the walls with anchor rods, the walls are permanently stabilized. They can also straighten walls over time in most cases.
On walls where the yard was inaccessible for anchors, PowerBraces were installed. Adjustable steel columns are custom fit to the height of the basement and are fit firmly against the walls with steel brackets on the concrete floors and floor joists of the basement. PowerBraces halt any further progression of the walls and can also improve walls by tightening them when conditions are dry.
Michael has peace of mind that his walls are secure and permanently stabilized.
Michael W. of Alton, IL already had a wall support system and basement waterproofing system installed by Woods Basement Systems. During his annual maintenance, he pointed out areas where the walls were looking dingy due to previous water damage. Service Technician Ben Scobbie recommended installing BrightWall panels.
Woods installed the BrightWall panels over the dingy walls. BrightWall panels are made of rigid, durable white plastic that never needs to be painted and are washable. They are waterproof and form a vapor barrier over the foundation walls, preventing moisture from entering the basement and directing it to the perimeter drainage system. They give the basement a much brighter, cleaner appearance.
Michael W. is thrilled with the new appearance of his basement and that his wall panels work with the systems that were already installed in his basement.
Dan N. from Alton, Illinois was worried about his cracks in the foundation. In order to solve this problem, he decided to call our team and got an appointment. Our system design specialist designed a solution by the means of Push Pier System.

In Alton, IL, Doug and Stefanie T. were having issues with bowing walls and water leaking into the basement. Woods Basement Systems was able to provide to fix and prevent all the issues they were experiencing.
Woods installed power braces in the basement to give the structure support and fix the foundation issues. The power braces are attached to the top of the structure and at the basement floor. They are used to push and hold the wall to stop inward wall movement. Over time they will help restore the vertical integrity of the foundation wall.
Woods also installed WaterGuard to help drain water out of the basement. WaterGuard is installed against the wall in the concrete of the floor. The water will flow into the WaterGuard, allowing the piping to lead the water out of the basement.
A TripleSafe sump pump was installed to provide escape for any unwanted water in the space. Water that may still get into the space will be pumped out through a discharge line that leads to the yard. If this line becomes frozen or backed up, IceGuard will prevent the water from receding back into the basement.
Judy and Shawn K. of Alton, Illinois were distraught by their wet, musty crawlspace. Mold had begun to overtake their crawlspace, causing allergy and health concerns. System design specialist Jeremy K. designed a solution to restore the crawlspace.
Foreman James L. and his team installed CleanSpace. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier, so it does not support mold growth.
